Cars 2: Interface

These are screenshots from the video game entitled "Cars 2: The Video Game" for the PS3, Xbox360, PC, Mac, and Wii. The theme of the interface here is based upon the premise that the entire game takes place in a holographic simulator inside of the international spy headquarters known as C.H.R.O.M.E.

This computer simulation theme provides an excuse for why Mater can be just as fast as Lightning McQueen. All along the project, we had the idea of the interface acting like a holographic spy interface. In the end, we produced an immersive 3D experience. ScaleForm GFx was utilized to create a stereoscopic effect on 3D HDTV screens for ALL user interface elements. 

As department lead, I oversaw many of the artistic aspects of the final interface design. I also scripted and designed the final look of many of the more 3-dimensional screens as it required a certain degree of technical skill to do so. Because of the 3D requirement, it became easier to design these screens in ScaleForm and preview them in the game during the design process.
